FG Promises To Do Better In Nation’s Health Care Delivery

Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Professor
Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Friday assured
citizens that the Federal Government is
working to improve the health care
delivery in the country.
The Minister, who was a special guest
at the third annual lecture of the
Medical and Health Workers Union of
Nigeria, said that the nation’s healthcare
system was not where Government
wants it to be.
Speaking at the event, the guest lecturer,
Mr Abubakar Muhammed advised state
and local governments to make
provision for its workers under the
National Health Insurance Scheme, and
called on the Government to give
priority to the poor in the provision of
health care.
The President of the Union, Dr Ayuba
Wabba called for unity of purpose
among professionals in the country’s
health sector, maintaining that the
nation’s health sector can be greatly
improved if all health sector
professionals work with a united
purpose.
